Meet the Scholar Series
Over the last ten years, we have been fortunate enough to hear from dozens of prominent Harvard faculty, local business leaders, and alumni as part of our "Meet the Scholar" speaker series. Topics ranged from public policy to the fine arts and beyond. These events often took place in our residential common spaces, creating powerful learning experiences outside of a traditional classroom setting. To celebrate our tenth anniversary year, we partnered with Harvard Common Spaces to host a special lineup of speakers in the newly renovated tenth floor of the Smith Campus Center.
We were delighted to host the list of speakers, below. Their careers and work exemplify many of the core values of our program: Learning Outside of the Classroom; Bridging Divides; Service to Self and Others; and Building Community. Their talked revealed reveal how the GCP Pillars have guided them through their own groundbreaking journeys. In each session, our Faculty Directors moderated Q&A.
As the Presidential Task Force on Inclusion and Belonging has noted, students' experiences with senior leadership play an important role in fostering a campus culture of inclusion, interdisciplinary engagement, and innovation. We were honored to host this stellar lineup of speakers, and to sustain a "One Harvard" dialogue with graduate students, staff, and faculty living in Harvard Housing.
